King Prince Charles III:

Prince Charles III, Britain’s longest ever king-in-waiting, first heir to the throne to have a university degree and the 73-year-old grandfather of five is set to be the king of the UK and 14 other Commonwealth sovereign states. 

After the death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, Charles Philip Arthur George, the Prince of Wales, is now formally known as King Charles III. With the announcement of Queen Elizabeth II‘s death, King Charles III, the late Queen’s eldest child, was naturally crowned as the new head and the king of the British Empire. King Charles was born to Elizabeth and Philip on November 14, 1948, at Buckingham Palace. On the death of King George VI, Charles was formally recognized as Prince of Wales on July 26, 1958, when he was only 9 years old. Thus, the investiture ceremony was delayed until he was almost 21 years old in 1969. 

He was the longest-serving heir apparent in British history and is the oldest person to assume the throne. As a monarch, the 73-year-old grandfather of five has taken the responsibility as the king of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth sovereign states. 

Charles started schooling on November 7, 1957, at Hill House in central London. On October 8, 1967, King Charles started studying archeology and social anthropology at Trinity College, Cambridge. Interestingly, on June 23, 1970, Charles becomes the first heir to the throne to earn a university degree.  In addition, Charles joined the military in 1971. Charles retired from the active military service in all three branches of the armed forces. By 2006, he was an Admiral in the Royal Navy, General in the Army, and Air Chief Marshal in the Royal Air Force. Besides, In 1976, created his charity, The Prince's Trust. 

Prince Charles was 30 years old when he married a shy 19-year-old nursery teacher named Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. The couple gave birth to Prince William and Prince Harry. After 15 years, on August 28, 1996, Charles and Diana separated. Diana dies in a car crash on April 9, 1997.

Again, Prince Charles fell in love with Camilla Shand. She was close in age, and shared similar interests. The couple married long-time love in 2005. The king is known to have many scandals as well.

Prince Charles once called as Red Crow as he smoked a peace pipe—a ceremonial pipe—during his royal visit to Canada in 1977. During the tour, he was given the name “Red Crow,” by an Indian Chief of the Kainai tribe. 

In terms of personality, King Charles takes keen interest in horses, especially farming organic farming. Apart from this, he also has a great critic in architecture. The King is fond of social work. He is a founder and patron of several charities, including 'The Prince's Trust'.

King Charles has two sons and five grandchildren. Presently, Prince William is the first in line to be the next King. Among family members, Charles was close to his great-uncle Louis Mountbatten.
