Queen Elizabeth II, the United Kingdom's longest-reigning monarch, died on September 8, 2022, at age of 96, after spending more than seven decades on the British Throne. The icon of majesty, grandeur, and honour took her last breath peacefully at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Under the medical supervision, the queen has been suffering, according to Buckingham Palace, from "episodic mobility problems" since the end of last year.

Family life of Queen Elizabeth:
Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926, in London to King George VI (father), the Duke of York, and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (mother). King George VI loved Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon deeply and got engaged in London on January 18, 1923, and later married at Westminster Abbey on April 26, 1923. The couple gave birth to their first child—Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, the future Queen Elizabeth II—on April 21, 1926, and then to Margaret Rose on August 21, 1930.
They met for the first time in 1939 at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, when she was 13 and Phillip was 18. At age 21, Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip Mountbatten when he was 26. Prince Philip was a former prince of Greece and Denmark. Their marriage lasted for 73 years until the death of Philip in April 2021. Moreover, Queen Elizabeth II had four children with Prince Philip: King Charles III; Prince Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
Within a year of their marriage, Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh gave birth to their first child, Charles III, on November 14, 1948. Prince Charles III remarried to Lady Diana Spencer on July 29, 1981. Prince Charles III married Camilla in 2005. Camilla had her second marriage with Charles after Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles.

Elizabeth’s only daughter, Anne, was born on August 15, 1950. On November 14, 1973, Princess Anne married Captain Mark Phillips. They got separated after 16 years on August 31, 1989. On December 12, 1992, Princess Anne's next marriage was to Commander Timothy Laurence.
Later on, Queen Elizabeth II's son Andrew Albert Christian Edward was born on February 19, 1960 at Buckingham Palace. Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson on July 23, 1986, at Westminster Abbey.
After four years, on March 10, 1964, the Queen gave birth to Edward Antony Richard Louis at Buckingham Palace. On June 15, 1999, Prince Edward Antony Richard Louis, the Earl of Wessex, married Sophie Rhys-Jones.
Elizabeth II acceded to the throne when she was 25 years old, following the death of her father, King George VI, in 1952. Her father acceded to the throne in 1936. Queen Elizabeth II continued in the position till her death on September 8, 2022.
With Queen Elizabeth II's death, her eldest son Charles III automatically becomes Britain's new king, taking the title King Charles 111, and ending a wait of more than 70 years, the longest by an heir in British history. Consequently, his second wife, Camilla, becomes queen consort.
The crown in Britain, in theory, is the most powerful, but in practice, he is just a ceremonial head of the state. The crown has been losing its powers with the growing power of the House of Commons.

When she was 25 years old, Elizabeth acceded to the throne, following the death of her father, King George VI, in 1952. During Queen Elizabeth's 70-year reign, the UK was led by 15 different prime ministers, and her dealings with them remained good. When Elizabeth II acceded to the throne, Winston Churchill was the first prime minister. Besides, the UK entered and left the EU, and during his reign the Iraq War occurred. Queen Elizabeth II is the only monarch in British history to have celebrated a Silver Jubilee, a Golden Jubilee, and a Platinum Jubilee.
