Volodymyr Zelensky was born on 25 January 1978 (age 44) is a Ukrainian politician, former actor, and comedian who is the sixth and current president of Ukraine.

Family life: His father, Oleksandr Zelensky, is a professor and mother, Rymma Zelensky, used to work as an engineer. Volodymyr married in 2013 with Olena Zelenska and the couple's two young children, Aleksandra and Kirill. Volodymyr obtained a degree in law but followed a career in acting.

His acting career: In 2008, he starred in the feature film Love in the Big City, and its sequel, Love in the Big City 2.

Zelensky continued his movie career with the film Office Romance. Our Time in 2011 and with Rzhevsky Versus Napoleon in 2012. Love in the Big City 3 was released in January 2014. Zelensky also played the leading role in the 2012 film 8 First Dates.

In 2015, Zelensky became the star of the television series Servant of the People, where he played the role of the president of Ukraine. In the series, Zelensky's character was a high-school history teacher who won the presidential election after a forceful speech against government corruption in Ukraine.

His political career: The political party Servant of the People was created in March 2018 by people from the television production company Kvartal 95.

Zelensky's anti-corruption platform won him widespread support. Zelensky was elected President of Ukraine on 21 April 2019, beating the incumbent, Petro Poroshenko with nearly 73 per cent of the vote to Poroshenko's 25 percent.

Zelensky is the first Jewish President of Ukraine. With Volodymyr Groysman as Prime Minister, Ukraine became the second country to have both a Jewish President and Prime Minister. Zelensky's first language is Russian, and he is also fluent in Ukrainian and English.

His response to Russian aggression 20 February 2014 became proverbial and earned him a title of hero of Ukraine.
