Mao Zedong What is Long March of China: The Long March China was taken out in 1934 by the Chinese communists under the banner of Mao Zedong to find a safe heaven from the atrocities of the Nationalists. After the death of Sun Yat-Sen, father of modern China, two persons came forward with an aim to unite China. One was Chiang Kai-shek, the talented disciple of Sin Yat Sen. Thus, he managed to take the reins of China. The other was Mao Zedong, who was greatly inspired by the philosophy of Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx. Mao was the commander of the Communist party in China. Initially, both were united to work together for the unification and upliftment of China, but later Chiang began to turn his mind away from Mao and followed a hostile policy towards the communists.
